RICHES & RESPONSIBILITIES: A NATURAL HISTORY OF THE BLACK HILLS EXHIBIT OPENS AT THE ADAMS MUSEUM

DEADWOOD – Deadwood History, Inc. (DHI) announces the public opening of the new exhibit, Riches & Responsibilities: A Natural History of the Black Hills at the Adams Museum on Thursday, November 8, 2018. The museum is open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday. Closed Sundays, Mondays, and winter holidays.

Riches & Responsibilities: A Natural History of the Black Hills features a series of thematic components including geology and paleontology, the Black Hills forest, water and weather, Black Hills flowers and grasses, and more. The exhibit provides visitors with a meaningful experience as they learn about the natural environment of Deadwood and the Black Hills. The current and future footprint left by human interactions – both positive and negative – is also examined. The exhibit completely transformed over 2,000 square feet of space on the lower level of the Adams Museum into one of the most ambitious and unique exhibits DHI has ever designed. The exhibit has been in the making for nearly two years. The Adams Museum is located at 54 Sherman Street, Deadwood.

The exhibit is co-sponsored by the Deadwood Historic Preservation Commission, Deadwood History, MDU Resources Foundation, Goldcorp-Wharf Sustainable Prosperity Fund, and the Adams-Mastrovich Family Foundation.
