MOUNTAIN LION YOUTH WORKSHOP AT THE ADAMS MUSEUM

DEADWOOD – Deadwood History, Inc. will host a Mountain Lion Workshop at the Adams Museum on Saturday, April 13, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The workshop is $6 for museum members and $11 for non-members. The workshop is suggested for students in grades K-6. Call Amanda Brown, Education Director, at 605-578-1657 for reservations or more information. Reservations are required.

Students are invited to learn about mountain lions, one of the most popular species within the big cat family. With the help of the South Dakota Game, Fish, and Parks Cougar Crate, children will discover where mountain lions live, what they eat, and why they are an important part of the environment. They will play games and visit museum exhibits to learn how humans moving into mountain lion territory can affect their population and what to do if they encounter a mountain lion in the wild. Light refreshments will be provided.

The workshop is co-sponsored by the Deadwood Historic Preservation Commission, Deadwood History, Adams-Mastrovich Family Foundation, Bill Haas, The William Karl and Laura L. Haas Educational Endowment, South Dakota Game, Fish, and Parks, and the Walter and Frances Green Trust Fund.
